Our Little Turtle

WoW! Its been a long time since I have posted anything.. Not that we havent been busy
On Saturday April 10th 2010 we went to the hospital, Banner gateway and had our little Turtle at 3:54pm. Brady Michael Langen weighted 7lbs 12oz and was 20 in long. waiting in the Triage room, watching the contraction monitor.. and yes I added a few of my "own" contractions.. Lol tricks of the trade. We were the only ones there. and the nurse came in after we had been there for about 15 mins. and she said "your having a c-section in 45 mins" I think we were both a bit shocked, not sure we really expected to stay, and have the process happen so fast! After she told me that, and put that silly blue cap on my head, all I could think about was going home, watching TV and taking a Nap. I dont think I was ready yet. The time went fast. totally different then Riley's birth. I wasnt as tired during this C-Section.. I felt all more, I saw allot more. and I thought way to much during the whole thing. I actually felt like I was having a heart attack when they were adding air, and flushing out my insides! I had horrible chest pains! and I could hear the suction hose slapping against my skin, .. almost like the noise at the dentist when they are taking the spit from your mouth.

He was beautiful! The first thing mike said was "he has your nose!" LOl which he does, and Riley does too. They took Brady and Michael to another room while I was being sewed up.

The first time I got to hold him, they wrapped him up so tight in the blankets and handed him over. He streatched him neck up and out, and his perfectly round little face turned back and forth from side to side and he stuck his little tongue out.. Thats when I knew, he was the little turtle I had always wanted.

The hospital was nice, great food, room service was awesome! But it was lonely.. So very lonely. Michael stayed the first night, but the father sleeping area is horrible! and I knew he was stressing about Riley not being with us. We knew he was ok, but it was weird that part of our family wasnt there. I was so thankful a few people came to visit! My friend Becky, Trina, Tyler and Crystal, Rose, Andrea and Linda, It was so food to see everyone! My in-laws who I am very grateful for! Riley stayed the night at Emily and Chris's I knew he would have a great time with the girls!. The other 2 nights.. were lonely, sad and long. Painful, extremly painful and frusterating,I cried allot those nights, missed my sisters, my mom, and my family. Brady lost weight in the hospital, he was down to just under 7lbs. I was glad to come home. to be able to snuggle my turtle without any nurses telling me to put him back in his bed! :P

Mike was able to change his vacation and take time off to help me. We took Brady to the Dr's and he still wasnt gaining any weight, so we have to try and wake him and feed him more often.

Riley loves his brother so much! and always wants to hug and kiss him, the other night he spent over an hour reading books to him. Michael is so cute with him, and I can see how proud he is when he holds him, talks to him and about him. I love him so much, I love watching him fall asleep, the little faces he makes, he smiles, he frowns, he squeeks, and he whines.. all in just a few seconds of time. He is ambitious.. He scoots up, and down to find the binky he dropped, and he rolled over! yes, rolled over, when he was about 2 weeks old. I was making a bottle in the kitchen and he rolled off his blanket, his butt in the air!, then right back onto his back. he was hungry and was going to go searching for food if it wasnt coming to him!. He will change the world and make it a better place someday.. That I am sure of. he doesnt like his feet covered up, and sticks both his legs straight out of the blanket and holds them in the air, he is a good baby, and I cant wait to learn all about him, cant wait to see what an amazing person he becomes.

When I hold him, and kiss his little head.. I know its all worth it. The years of trying to have a baby, the heartache, the loss of someone I thought was my true friend, the testing, couting the days, being in pain and hormonal for 9 months! and basically driving myself crazy! It was worth it. We Love our Little Turtle and know that our family and friends will too.
If you read my blog, (not sure if anyone does.. but if you do, you can comment anytime :) if you do read this then you will get to watch Brady grow up, Riley grow up, and watch me grow up too :) Someday anyways.

Its good to be able to walk again, move normal again! and the baby blues seem to be fading, so Its nice to start feel like myself again :)

I love this picture! Its one of my favorites because its so funny! This was the day we left the hospital, this outfit with the collar up, makes him look like dracula :) I just love it. :) Im sure he will be upset with me for it someday, oh well..

Easter eggs.. a bit early

We dyed eggs monday. I know its a week early but, I figure my motto for awhile should be "the sooner the better" :) This is one of my favorite things to do every year! Sometimes I wish there were more holidays. Eventhough some can be stressful, I Love the traditions! & since time goes by so fast, and people get so busy, its nice to have particular days to celebrate.

Before we did the egg thing. I sat down and talked to Riley about the real meaning of Easter. :)
He has just been surprising the Heck out of me lately! The things he knows, and says just shock me, and I am so proud of him :)



Did you know, easter eggs come with clothes now!? Hats and scarfs to dress them up! I think its kinda funny.

Mike thought we were nuts putting our fingers into the dye water!
Lol, he is mess-a-phobic.

Riley spend 2 hours decorating his eggs! He took pride in them, and really enjoyed it for the first time.


Mike came home from work today, and hid eggs in the backyard.. aka - the JUNGLE! I took pictures (of course) and Riley ran around the yard looking everywhere for them!. It was so cute to watch him miss a few,


Mike would try and give him hints to where they were like "I think the easter bunny likes to play in the wagon!!" & Riley would laugh and say "No he doesnt" then walk right past it :)

we are going to Sharons on Sunday for an Easter BBQ, and a hunt for the kids. I think they will have a great time!! Hoping its a NICE RELAXING DAY! Drama FREE, but I doubt that will be the case. But, this is the first easter I have been able to attend in over 3 years!, and before that it was another 3 years.
Here is me and my egg in all my "bedrest no makeup glory" Lol :) its ok.. I dont mind, I thought was a horrible picture and mike said. "why do you keep forgetting your 9 months pregnant!?" Lol oh yeah Duh

Went to the Dr's today, it was painful! welcome to weekly checks, barely walking and crying all the way to the car. Nearly done, just a couple more weeks! I can take it!! I hope :)

March showers.. bring April Babies :)

I had a small baby shower a few weeks ago. It was fun :) I wasnt sure I should have one, but I am glad I did. It was so great to see everyone!! I think thats the very best part of birthdays, showers, holidays and just special occations! Getting to see people you only get to see a few times a year because everyone is so busy, and life gets in the way!
My mother in law did a great job decorating and doing most of it. Emily had to go out of town short notice for family.
I didnt get as many pictures as I wanted to. But I had a great time catching up with everyone!
Emily ordered a cake from her friend, it was cute and yummy.

My Aunt D was there, and helped keep Riley entertained! I think he was a bit overwhelmed with so many people there.

He had an awesome time! He loves his motorcycle! He rides it around the house all day.

One day soon.. when I am able to walk again I can take him outside to ride it super fast! & the bubbles! Oh my this kid Loves Loves bubbles!!


It was so cute, My godmother Rose got Riley a best big brother gift! It was so sweet, and he really loved it. as soon as we got home from the party he was fast asleep, about 30 mins later, he popped up and said. "can I take a bath with Gramma Rose's paints now?" he must have been dreaming about them.



We decorated onesies again like at Riley's shower, and they turned out really cute! I love doing it because its like everyone that already loves the baby, puts a bit of their personality into them, and I will keep them forever!


Mike came and helped me get home, and the shower date was perfect timing,... Since a few days later I found out I have a Hernia :( inbetween my upper thigh and tummy on the left side. Its so painful most of the time. If I sit for more then about 30 mins, its unbearable to get up and try to walk around. Work is horrible! I feel so silly crying everytime I walk because it hurts to bad!. The Dr. is moving my c-section up to 37 weeks, which is only 2 weeks away! Im very excited., and worried and a bit overwhelmed. I feel like I still have so much to go to get ready.. But being unable to move normally is making it difficult to accomplish much.

Are things speeding up? or Am I going slower?

The days seem long, but yet I get nearly nothing done. I wake up every 2 hours like clockwork, and only get about 5-6 hrs of sleep total. So much to do, but there never seems like enough time. I cant wait to take my leave! I am going to take all of April off!! :) I hope, maybe then I can get caught up on school work, and spending time with people I love! & doing things I enjoy doing for a bit before Brady is here. Some will be without pay, I am Very Very worried about that, but I think its worth it, I need it! I feel emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted.

My shower is the 13th of march, I am so thankful that Emily and Sharon wanted to give me a shower!! :) I hope it will be a great time! & Emily took pictures of me and Riley at the Power Ranch park for the invites,

I am in the FOP or the faternal order of Police at work, and I pay my dues every month. Well I got a check back, turns out they were taking our twice as much as they should have been for nearly a year! So I was very excited when I finally had the money to get something I know I will use allot. A Glider!! Its pretty! :) and so easy to put together. Riley and I did it :)

so I messed up on the arms, but mike was quick to help fix it for me. after we put it together my goal was to clean the kitchen.. but.. using the glider box to make a house seemed like a more.. productive way to spend my time :) Riley and I had a great time! Decorating it!


and then playing inside and outside of it :)

He was using it as a resturant, saying "can I take your order"? and he had the recent burger kind coupon book and let us pick our items out, it was cute!

Penguin Awareness Day!

Yeah, this post has nothing to do with Penguin's, but I thought it was an interesting fact :) I dont suppose I think about Penguin's everyday, or even most days for that matter. But they are super Cute! and one of my favorite animals. and these days, I do resemble one :) walking anyways :)

Riley's first art project at school :) He did a great job, I am very proud of him :)
I'm so glad he loves school, and I hope he is doing a good job, its hard to tell when your not there, but I trust him, he is a good kid... Plus.. he always tells me when he did something wrong, :) I like that, very honest :) so far.


I was woddling in the kitchen the other day.. noticed "yuck" I need to mop the kitchen! so I whined about it for a min looking down at the floor, or, well. looking around since I can no longer see the floor directly below me, nor my feet.
Riley said. I'll mop mom, Someone had to do it! he did a great job! :) & I gave him his bi-weekly allowance for the ice cream man, who seems to no longer come around the nieghborhood.



I like his super hero underwear, they are cute :)


I got Riley Hungry Hungry Hippo for Christmas, because it was one of my favorite games when I was younger, and we like to play games together. $10 I thought great deal. WRONG, they dont make anything like they used to, its made horribly. all the necks get stuck, the marbles are plastic and the whole thing is SO Cheap! we cant even play the game right, because the necks get stuck and we have to stop everytime.
:P Toy makers!! Stop being so Dang Cheap! $10 is my take home pay an hour! Oh well,


Tonight we went to Mike's dads house for dinner and dessert! :) It was a great time! We dont see them enough, Life gets in the way allot, but it was a nice visit :) Riley had a great time, running around with the dog, and he got christmas presents from pop Pop and Grandma Jenny. He LOVED them!


One train he had been wanting for a long time. Merdoch, and the passenger car Flora, he also got Percy's day at the Farm,which in less then 15 mins after we got home, he had it all put together and ready to play!


This is a cute pic, when Riley opened this, he said "oh its just a picture for mommy" :( Heck Yeah! I am very excited! Its another digital picture frame!! Woohoo, this one plays music and video's! and I got a memory card so I can use it now! :) Im so excited, Just trying to figure out where to put them, after I upload my pics :) as you can tell, I love pictures! I have a horrible memory, and pictures are the only way to remember things for me :)
